Shot Put

This event requires strength and power. The senior women’s shot put weighs 4kg. Competitors take their throw from inside a marked circle 2.135m in diameter with a stopboard approximately 10 centimetres high at the front of the circle. You must keep the shot put in contact with the neck until release otherwise this is considered an illegal throw.
